Title: Help with ISDN or alternative
Post by: James Shields on December 11, 2003, 10:21:11 AM
I currently enjoy a 512/128 ADSL connection direct to my SME5.6 server, but maybe moving. New house cannot get ADSL (thanks to Telstra's stupid rules).

Is there anybody in Australia that can point me the right direction.

1. I assume ISDN is the next best solution. If not, what ?
2. Can ISDN be connected to SME 5.6 ?
3. Can anybody recommend an ISP. New house will be in Wangaratta, Victoria. Phone number (03) 57xx xxxx.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

James

Hello!

I dont live in Australia, but I can give you some info. The next best thing to DSL would be either Satelite DSL?? or then ISDN.
You can use ISDN with e-smith - just run setup and you will have the choice to configure ISDN.

Wish you luck

I run ISDN with E-Smith / SME V6, I use a NETspider MX ISDN external modem from Traverse Technologies they are located in Victoria, best to use a provider that can support Data over voice, so you can get untimed local calls on ISDN, Traverse Technologies have a link to ISP's that support this protocol.
Hope this helps.
