Title: PostgreSQL start-up
Post by: Arjan on December 15, 2003, 09:16:27 AM
Hello,

I have installed postgreSQL. It works fine from my local network.
For school I need to start it from school. But then i must start the postmaster with the -i option.

How can I do that?
It is very importent?

Thanks in advance

Greetz

This is a very good link for Postgres on Red Hat based systems:

After i read the document on that site I add the option -o and -i, now i get the following fault when I wan't to start.

Has anyone a idea?

[root@server root]# /etc/init.d/postgresql start
Starting postgresql service: -sh: -c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token >'
-sh: -c: line 1: /usr/bin/pg_ctl  -D /var/lib/pgsql/data -o -i -p /usr/bin/postmaster start  > '
