Does anyone know of a contib or other software package for SME 6 that would allow the creation of "idrive" type storage online? I'm looking to offer web-based storage for users coming in from outside. I've had some experience playing around with shares, but I haven't found a good way to enable them via a user-friendly, virtually idiot-proof interface (which pretty much limits me to a web browser, I think).
Many thanks for any pointers!

ok, 1 condition only ;-)

Look at PHPFileExchange
If it is what you want, please write up a HowTo and submit it to contribs. org

Hsing - Drbig has done a e-smith add for this see here http://www.drbig.co.uk/index.php?option=com_docman&Itemid=26&task=view_category&catid=77&order=dmdate_published&ascdesc=DESC
His/Her site is being updated and the file is not there at the moment, I have installed this long time ago and was easy enough to use although havent used lately.

Although DRBig's how-to is still seemingly unavailable from the site mentioned above, there is a README located at http://www.tech-geeks.org/contrib/bbutts/fileexchange/README.txt that includes a very good how-to.
The package works well. The only downside I can see is that it doesn't allow you to upload anything but one file at a time -- which is somewhat painful if you need to upload a whole directory (or series of directories!) It meets my needs, however, which is about all I can ask.

Just a bump to this topic to see if anyone is working on/interested in WebDAV on SME.
The RPM installs fine, it's easy to add the details to httpd.conf, but...some other configuration seems to be missing.

What problems are you having exactly? I have installed webdav, with SME 5.5 and 5.6.
I have not packaged it in an RPM format, but I do have the templates sorted out.
One possible additional idea was to try and integrate user access into the normal sme way of doing things.
If your still having problems, I will post my template fragments for you.

Have you tried Darrell Mays webshare contrib??

Don't know if it works in 6, but I think it should.

Just installed. Thanks, but...
Nope, it's not Webdav, and Firefox Calendar needs real Dav folders... I can upload with file manager, read a calendar in Firefox, but I can't publish it.

Rob,
Could you please post your webdav info. I've been trying to figure this out for quite awhile. Thanks
