Title: SSH and bandwidth
Post by: Horsedog on January 04, 2004, 07:01:01 AM
transfers via SSH v2 with compression to are limited to 260 kB/s.. kinda slow cause
I can get way more through samba... 600mb iso files take a long time...

If I open multiple SSH connnections it helps, but there is some loss per connectino..

btw.. 100 mb internal network with full duplex throughout, with 3com network cards everywhere and a 3 com 24port managed switch...

Can SSH be tricked out any more?

I don't have samaba shares to where I wanna go behind the scenes and I'm too lazy
to learn how to move files through the "dos prompt"

Try using protocol version 1 with compression, I find that protocol version 2 significantly reduces throughput.
