Hi!
I have upgraded the samba server on my e-smith box to the latest version redhat had 2.2.0. Everything works fine I've got Win2k and NT boxes up and running as members of my domain controlled by my e-smith server PDC, except one thing. I can't access the win2k computers or NT computers shares from win95 boxes on the domain. The popup message says "Your computer account has expired".
Any ideas???
Thanx in advance // Olle Maartensson // Arkiva AB

Hi Olle,
I read that you have upgraded to Samba 2.2. I have a few Win2k PC's that I would like to join the domain, and thought of upgrading as well. Did you just download the RPM from redhat and install it via " rpm -Uvh" ?
Was there any problems that you have encounted ?
Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Olle,
like Karl, I would also be very interested to hear what exactly was required and what you had to do.
I recommend you start your query in the forum with a better topic again to get more answers. The topic says "user account has expired" but it's actually "your computer account ..." as I am reading inside the message.

Olle,
Trying this is a major item on my to-do list. HAve you considered putting together a How-To to document what you did?
There would be quite a few grateful users, I'd imagine...

Hi everybody.
Have you searched the forum for this information? I've posted a note explaining how to upgrade to a newer version of samba and use it as a PDC with win2k clients some time ago.

I hope this is what you were looking for.
