hi,
I'm trying to configure a new SME server to connect to the internet through a Great Speed DSL modem. The model number is: GS-B240G.
The problem is that this modem in particular does not connect to the internet through the SME server. Other DSL modems connect without any problems. The same modem connects through a windows machine but not through the SME. Therefore, I;m pretty sure it is something in the configuration of the modem itself to be modified in a way that will allow it to work with the SME.
Has anyone before experiensed this type of problem? Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
Best regards,

No direct experience of this device, but..
It's an ADSL bridge (using ZIPB) - not quite the same as a normal ADSL modem/router.
That said, I've used an ADSL modem/router in ZIPB mode with SME, so it can be done.
Judging from this:

It would seem that you may need a crossover ethernet cable and it also looks like the bridge is acting as a NAT device with a built-in DHCP server, so you'll need to either disable the DHCP (if possible) or set up a bunch of forwarding rules to the SME. Obviously the SME will need to be configured to pick up a DHCP address if you choose to use it in this mode.
