Title: Wish for E-Smith to handle multiple dynamic domain names.
Post by: Rob Hillis on May 03, 2001, 07:26:28 AM
It'd be nice for E-Smith to automatically handle multiple dynamic domain names (I've got two registered through dyndns.org) and also, have support for backup MX records included.  Currently I have to use an additional client to manage both domains correctly.

I have 2 dynamic domains from dhs.org.  I use one of their suggested scripts for updating of my IP address.  It is put in the custom template.  When I got the second dynamic domain, I simply appended the script (with the variables set for the new domain) to the end of the custom script.  [In effect the custom template contains their script twice now].

Then set a virtual domain for the second dynamic domain pointing to its own ibay.

Works great.

HI Simeon,

I too wish to set up dyndns.con with several domains. As I am new to e-Smith, I wouldn't want to screw up my installation, hence would really welcome your advice on how to get two or more domains set up.

I have followed the steps in creating ibays and virtual domains, what I would like to do now is to map them properly onto dyndns.com.

I would appreciate it if you would give me step-by-step instructions, or just upload your own config file so I can copy from it what needs to be done.

Much appreciate your help

regards
