Can anyone help? I installed exactly according to the how-to. After running faxsetup i get

FATAL ERROR: /usr/bin/gs does not exist or is not an executable program!

The file:

    /usr/bin/gs

at the end of the program. I also get the egetty and vgetty program errors which do not result in a fatal error. I am using e-smith 4.1.   Help Please!

egetty and vgetty messages are normal - they refer to the absense of voice and (I think) data handlers.  Unless you're trying to set all that up as well, you don't need either of the latter.

Seems to be a very good and comprehensive howto, except the fact, that every software-link points to www.redhat.com

That's because none of the required RPMs are included with E-Smith, but they *are* included with RedHat, and since E-Smith is based on Redhat, it's the best place to get these RPMs from.
