Title: ReiserFS
Post by: Serge Dutremble on May 30, 2001, 11:55:24 PM
A journaling file system like ReiserFS would surely enhance the system as it is more robust on recovery from power failure and other unforecasted reboots.

It could come as an optional configuration on initial setup or installed by default if such a configuration has no negative impact on the overall system.

Thank you.

I use ReiserFS on some of our RedHat and Suse servers and I have nothing but praise for it, it's fast in normal use, robust, and does indeed recover beautifully and quickly.

I would very much like to see this added along with user accounts and groups stored in LDAP with replication support in the configuration screen and JSP (specifically Tomcat).

E-Smith never ceases to amaze me with how useful and well put together it is but by adding the above features it would be enterprise class.

Thanks to all involved in the project for making such a great piece of software.
