Post by: swamy on June 06, 2001, 11:35:27 PM
Hi

I am running 4.1.2 E-smith as mail server.

Can any one know how to use Mcafee Antiviurs on E-smith. Do we have any other specific antivirus software which runs on E-smith.

Pls give me details about this ASAP.

thanks in advance.

Visit http://netsourced.com/e-smith and select the software solutions link.  RAV is a good antivirus product that works great with e-smith.

Darrell, what kind of a server load have you found with RAV? The daemon certainly does a lot of work so I'm just a little concerned about putting on a server for a client.

I agree it works hard checking every inbound and outbound e-mail but I have not noticed any load to speak of.  Might be noticable on lower powered 486 hardware.

I personally run RAV on a Celeron/64MB.  All my clients installs use P3-866/128MB.  One client is a school with 600+ webmail users so they really put a load on RAV and have no complaints.

Hope this helps.
