NTP server in e-smith is a good feature but I don't use it as it's frequent checking seems excessive - once or twice a day would surely be enough - can this be adjusted in upcoming versions or an option added to vary the frequency of updates?

I Agree,
I couldn't work out why my ISDN connection seemed up almost permanently until I checked the router log and found NTP to be the culprit.

It seems that what is needed is an option to specify the frequency of the updates.

But then again, it would be good for others to see it request that information once every 300 seconds for us that are on line 24/7 so the arp caches don't time out. Pro / con...
Food for thought....

Then what is really needed is a configurable frequency:
1 min
3 min
5 min
10 min
30 min
1 hour
4 hours
8 hours
12 hours
24 hours
That might be overkill, but it would do the trick. Or just have a number of seconds field that could be filled in -- let's see, once per day is 60 secs/min * 60 mins/hour * 24 hours/day = :-)
