Post by: Bob Ross on August 02, 2001, 06:46:53 PM
Can anyone tell me when a new release of E-Smith is planned en which (extra?) features it will have?

Thanx!

Interesting Question ! E-Smith 4.1.2 is based on RedHat 7.0. RedHat 7.1 is out of the door and someone that uses E-Smith 4.1.2 would think that there is a plan for a new release as well as a feature list. I think ISDN is one of these features because it is a widely ask feature. Anyway, I don't know it, but would love to get the same information and an approx. ship date. Anyone else here that is not eager to know when e-smith server based on a 2.4 Kernel would be out?

I honestly don't think the e-smith team will answer that one yet. All you'll get out of them is that a 5.0 release is planned. Just sit back and wait a while. Let the great folks at e-smith (Mitel now, I believe) worry about that. :) Whenever they do make a new distro available, I'm sure it will be great and better than the previous.
