How about an option to use smith box as a CD-ROM server for your workgroup ?
Someone here suggested you could even mount ISO images using the loopback
file system and have very fast access for CD's you want permanently available as
well as multi CD Drives for swap out using supermount ?
I think this would be a great add on to the install routine / config as I at the moment havent a clue how to achieve this myself !

I use E-Smith in just such a manner for FAA controlled manuals that are distributed on CD-ROM. The local network I manage is a bunch of W2K workstations and 1 e-smith server. These CD's are read by a windows based program and allow the end user to use the manuals as if the cd was loaded in their local workstation.
Using 1 network drive, i have 47 cd's loaded. (Thank god for 40GB drives:)
I first created an i-bay for them. It matters not what you call it, but mine was cdroms. make it accessible to everyone when you make it.
i then made subdirectories named after each CD. naming for me was easy since all are unique because of the publication number. the main point is to be consistent and that the names are unique.
i then went to a windows workstation and loaded the cd in the drive.
i used network neighborhood to navigate to the e-smith smb share called cdroms and made it a network drive and selected the checkbox to mount it again at login time.(windows boxes have a habit of needing to be rebooted for some reason :)
i then made the subdirectories as needed and opened the cdrom under windows explorer, copied the entire contents of the cd to the applicable subdirectory.
now as users need the cd, they just open up the network drive, navigate to the appropriate folder.
This may work for you.

I do something similar.
I use the 'Daemon Tools' to access the ISO images. http://www.daemon-tools.com/
