IT could be nice with a tool where i could spesify how much bandwidth of the
ADSL, cable ........ a computer is permited to use by the MAC or IP
(MAC would be the best i think)
An Example
3 Computers
ADSL or Cable 1024/256
Computer 1. have only permision to use max 64/64 kb of the internet.
Computer 2. 512/128
computer 3. No limites (1024/256)

Have you had a look at traffic shaping? I've tried to come up with a manager plugin, but requests like this are too hard. It's easier to come up with generic policies (eg web=75%max bounded & icmp=5%max bounded) but adding extra users, which is what everybody seemed to want in the end, means that kind of complexity for *each* ip. An pre-pre-prerelease of the add-on created a masq file of about 65KB and each IP added an extra 3KB running that on the base machine (486) doesn't run quickly enough.
It may yet see the light of day once my job prospects settle down :-)
