Webmin is a logical extension to the E-Smith platform - it provides a very friendly way to manage MYSQL and other core linux services. Clearly there would need to be some modifications to update templates based on changes made by webmin.

this is a good (not new) idea but they don't seem to want such thing ... :o(

What webmin does is direct edit the configuration file. E-Smith will recreate the configuration file from the templates. This makes any Webmin changes temporary.
The unless webmin gets edited to alter template fragments and expand-template then the two wil *always* be incompatible.
As for MySQL - there's a contrib rpm for phpMyAdmin, which works quite well.
Why not look at similar projects to phpMyAdmin where it's a single purpose add-on. First try it as a contrib, and then, with the authors permission, write a e-smith manager plugin.
Remember, it's Microsoft's strategy to divide and conquer...

As a major Webmin advocate, I find it unfortunate that these two products don't work together. While I have been VERY impressed with the ease-of-use offered by E-Smith, I would like to have the access all the functionality of the webmin interface. There are simply not enough add-in modules to make up the difference.
It would have been wonderful if E-smith had also been designed to modify the standard config files. This retains the value of the command line as well as the web interface.
My opinion, of course...
