Is it possible to enable/disable support for msn messenger voice-conversation?
And if, how?

msn messanger communicates with internet using h.323 proxy.
he (and i ) want to talk with msn messanger.
can there be an option so you can enable/disable h323 proxy?
i have tried to install h.323 programs. as they are not rpm-s and i am not very good at linux, i can't install them.
also would be good to enable netmeeting support via e-smith.
can these feautres be added to the next version of e-smith or added to the blades.

Hi,
I agree we could use a netmeeting and msn messenger server option in e-smith
Netmeeting (ILS-server) support should be possible. There are some howto's for linux ( http://www.freesoft.org/software/NetMeeting/ ). It would howerver be a good thing to have this as a standard part of e-smith.
Also a msn messenger-server could be a usefull thing. Messenger and netmeeting seem to be integrating more and are being used for intra office communication. Besides this, a local service is always preferabel to a remote one for security reasons, lastly the amount of data traffic over the internet drops to a minimun.

Although I can't chat on MSN messenger if the paty outside the SME presses the button to call you via netmeeting the action causes your client to call out on netmeeting. Using this method I find that voice / file transfer and even white board all works 100%. Even duplex voice and cameras work very well and all via the SME. I hope this is a work around for some people.

I have this kind of problem. The one i am trying to chat is behind 4.1.1. So this doesn't help me a lot, but i keep that in mind.
Incoming file transfer works just fine. The problem is that i am the one that has to send files out most of the time.
I have even tried to install gatekeeper software, but it is only for polish(ed) linux. so it won't work on sme.
May-be some more experienced guys can make rpm's out of tarred and zipped packages? or make a version suitable for sme?

I'm stuck with netmeeting too, I need to be able to go through a SME 4.1.2 box to a M$ server on the otherside (running netmeeting 3.01). I have ipmasqadm portfw set up to forward the ports (1720, 1503) and the ip_masq_h323 module loaded as normal, it does get a connection, but then rejects. The /var/log/messages comes up with the following:
Feb 6 11:56:27 cow1 kernel: masq_h323_done_1
Feb 6 11:56:27 cow1 kernel: masq_h323: h245 status (0=unregistered, 1=registered) = 1
Feb 6 11:57:08 cow1 kernel: masq_h323_init_1
Feb 6 11:57:08 cow1 kernel: masq_h323_init_1: found an old h245 app; n_attach forced to 0
Feb 6 11:57:08 cow1 kernel: masq_h323_init_1: the old h245 app is successfully unregistered.
Feb 6 11:57:08 cow1 kernel: masq_h323_in: H.245 Port is at: 0
So it appears something good is happening, but the connection ain't getting forwarded. I've played with what I think is everything, bar updating the masq_h232 module.
Something I'm missing here? Like I've toyed with ipchains, but even with a default 'accept' policy, and removal of 'deny' entries doesn't help.
