Post by: hdmueller on March 30, 2002, 02:22:48 PM
In the different forums there are several hints but no direct advices. Actually such things should be quite straightforward. Can comebody provide me a min-how-to ?

sorry - the http install works fine. I got frightened by the docs and the faqs that it might not work. Actually it works fine with the bootnet.img floppy; I had no problems with the http install - using analogx on the http server. ( I had a problem with the nic : my 3c905c was recognized as 3c59x - installed 2x; on the 2nd trial it recogenized ok and the machine works ). I will now start trying the other features. I want to migrate from smoothwall to e-smith due to the additional features of e-smith. smoothwall is a good product, especiall the doc is very good, and especially the guys at the irc help channel ( well you have to treat these guys very very nice - but they offer excellent support )
