Title: Can the local network IP addresses be changed?
Post by: John Pigdon on June 03, 1999, 04:52:28 PM
I downloaded the documentation for the current release of e-smith to peruse before downloading the product.

It appears from this that the e-smith server must have the address 192.168.1.1. Is this correct?

Is it envisaged that the next version could be configured with any address? The use I have for this product is in an office with ip addresses already assigned in the 10.0.0.0 range.

You are quite right. Currently, the server and gateway must have an IP address of 192.168.1.1 on the internal network.  However, the next version of our product, slated for release in July, will allow this to be configurable to any network/subnet mask /gateway address combination.
