Does anyone know if these drives can be used with E-smith ?

I have one, an external SCSI model.  It worked fine for a while, now it doesn't.  I'm thinking it's a problem with the drive, as it doesn't work with Windoze any more either.

Hi,

I'm using one of these with only a minor problem. Every time following a reboot of the e-smith box the scheduled backup will fail every single time (with a broken pipe error) until I have carried out a manual backup (    . /sbin/e-smith/backup  ). After this scheduled backups will continue normally until the server is next rebooted. It's only been a minor niggle to me (as the e-smith box is very rarely down), so I haven't even bothered to find a cure! If anyone has one please reply!

Other than that it works extremely well. All I did was shutdown, plug in the drive and restart!  If you need any more info please drop me an e-mail.

Richard

I'm using the TapeStor 10/20 model.

I have no problems with the internal version of the drive.  I did have to do one manual backup to the drive per tape, but I don't have any problems after a reboot.
