Title: Shutting down PPPoE manuel set timeout
Post by: Andreas Herrmann on September 09, 2002, 10:58:53 PM
Shutting down the PPPoE link after an idle time you can specify or manuel via the server-manager.
My PPPoE connection should not be online the whole time. To set an idle time (DEMAND=600) in /etc/ppp/ppp/pppoe.conf is no problem. After pppoe was should down, e-smith immediately starts a new connection. How can I prevent this?

Check if any one in your network is requesting something from the internet. May try to unplug the LAN from your sme box and see it it still behaves the same.
