Title: Firewall Port Tool
Post by: Des Waples on October 13, 2002, 05:20:44 PM
I know theres a lot of people out there that are good with linux but it would be nice to have controll over the fire wall ports in a GUI format without having to look for and try to edit the allow list. There are times when the standard and private settings don't fit with all tasks required by some people for the gateway to function with some programs. Would it be to hard to code in as most people would use the Server as primarly Gateway/FIREWALL for their systems?

Let me say in praise that it would be the best product on the market and one I regularly recommend to others.

Yeah that would be handy to have, it would save the hassle of tyring to learn how to edit my firwall rules, like I am at the moment, cause I'm still just a noobie at this :-)

This really would be awesome.  There are SO many ports open by default and no easy way I can find to close them.  I couldn't even get Bastille to install on my previous install.  Maybe I can now, with the clean install...but if that functionality were built in, it'd really help us that are not very Linux/command-line savvy!
