Title: SME 5.5 and Servlets/JSP
Post by: Sebastian Slota on October 14, 2002, 10:21:19 PM
Hello,

I'm using or better testing SME Server for some time now. so far I've only used PHP to generate dynamic pages. Right now I'm interested in using JSP and maybe even Servlets for my pages.

I've not found java on the server so I'll have to install it myself.

I'm using java on Win2k so far and have little knowledge about Java on Linux.

These are my main questions:
-what do I need to run the JSP and servlets on SME 5.5 ?
-does someone knows some rpms to set up on SME?
-is a how-to available?

I'm not ready to make some testing and mess my server ( much work was it to setup it )!

I'm from germany so excuse my english!!! Yet a simple how-to make me no worry!

For the most part I'm uneasy about the template system of SME. I've figured out bits yet...

Hope someone have done already what I'm planning to do as I think Java isn't somethink extraordinary...

Thanks in advance,

Sebastian
