Currently there seem to be only 2 levels of support:
GPL-version
Mitel SME-server with service-link
For me the last price I have seen for the latter was way to high. But some of the features would appeal to me...
A solution might be to have different levels of professional support (logically at different prices).
I could do without
- a daily updated virus-scanner
- a mail-server backup
- most of the blades
What do others think about this?
regards
Alexander
PS: thanks for the great work...

I completely agree. I run a business with one employee. That's me. I have one business user. That's me. I have my son using my servers. I have my wife saving stuff on the server. Non of their stuff is commercial.
I think, after years of messing with NT server, or various linux distributions, that SME is exactly what I need. But NOT at a cost designed to support a whole group of workers who are probably not too expert.
I would gladly pay a week's income for SME managed services. Then I could get on with being a consultant engineer, rather than an IT amateur.

I agree. I strictly use it myself as a router/print server on a home network.
I'd love to see a distro/license with just those functions without the email server and such.
I know i could buy an inexpensive router but I would not have as much security and the ability to have more than 1 printer on the router/print server.
