Title: DialonDemand
Post by: Guido on January 30, 2003, 06:14:14 PM
Hi,

what about a dial on demand feature for DSL users?
Seems there is still no working solution for that problem....

Hi,

type this when logged in as root:

/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop pppoe DemandIdleTime 130
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

DemandIdleTime 130 => should set the Idle timeout to 130 seconds

Make sure not one of your windows workstations is keeping the line open. Maybe cut of everthing else from the network and see if it shutsdown then.

Oh and you could change some templates. Start here  /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf
