i know this has been proposed before, but i would like to suggest this again. there should be another option in the "E-mail to unknown users" section of the "Other e-mail settings" page of e-smith-manager. i would really like to see a "/del/null" type option instead of the "Return to Sender" or "Send to Administrator" selections.
my site gets hundreds of spam messages a day. most of these are for users that no longer have accounts here. under the "Return to Sender" option, these messages usually then bounce back to an invalid spam e-mail address. this means that almost 100% of the bounces bounce, which then sends them to the admin account with an error message. so, basically, both options end up with hundreds (thousands...) of e-mail messages in the admin account.
i know charlie came up with something for e-smith 4.0 here: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=9740.msg36954#msg36954 and i see that darrell also put something together for older versions of sme, but really, shouldn't this just be handled within e-smith-manager???
if someone can't spell the name of a user on my system correctly and their e-mail gets deleted - tough. i'd rather deal with this minor problem than cleaning out the thousands of bounced messages in my admin account on a weekly basis...

While we're at it, it would be great for the mailserver to handle distribution lists better.

And how about an option to send all unaddressed
email to a separate email account on the server.
In this way, everything without a legit email
address could be forwarded to thataccount@yourdomain.com.
Then all messages addressed to the admin would go to the
admin address. However, there is no option to send all
wrong addressed email to a specific hosts default email address.
