Title: Recommended IMAP Email Client
Post by: Jason Scrivener on July 12, 2001, 06:57:49 AM
Has anybody got any recommendations on a good (free) IMAP email client for e-smith?

I'm looking to run it in a small office with less than 10 people.  The requirement they have is for basic email functionality plus some shared folders (when I can work out how to do that in e-smith!)

Thanks,
Jason.

Well, if it's a client you need, it won't be running on e-smith, but on your users' workstations. Have you tried Eudora? It has a subscription version (i.e. with a small advertising box in lieu of payment). It is a bit of a resource hog, but has good features, including a good rules engine. On the other hand, there's always Outlook Express, which is included with IE 5.x.

Windows workstations? Then Pegasus Mail would be a good choice. It's free and works with both POP3 and IMAP.
