Title: Contribs accepted and in concideration for next release
Post by: Mike on January 18, 2004, 06:50:57 PM
Hi everyone

I would like to throw an idea up.
What I would like to see and hopefully more with me is the next;

It would be nice to publish a development overview on contribs.org with 2 or 3 lists.
1) A list of "aproved" contribs that will be build into the upcoming release.
2) A list of contribs that are "in testfase" but are thought of being build into the next release as soon as the contribs are tested enough to raise them the status of  "proven to be stabile".
3) A list of Alpha & Beta contribs that are not yet far enough to be concidered to put into the next release.

I think this would give much more people a much better overview of what is to be expected and would hopefully give an overview of Beta-rpm's that need to be tested to get to the aproved-status.

Also the next;
When I am looking for a rpm that has to do a certain task and I go to the "contribs file library", then there are many contribs with no explaining readme.txt-file or so, that I can see what the rpm accually does.

Maybe a contrib searchengine would come in handy (If it isn't already buid into the upcoming new site of contribs.org)

Greetings Mike

I agree here totally.  I'd love to see a matrix of rpm's and howto's similar to what e-smith used to have on their site.

Somebody already is making a 'Matrix'. Dunno about the current status.

If a 'contribs system' is in place, it will be incorporated in the search.
