Title: Email attachment stripping
Post by: mark on January 20, 2004, 09:15:14 PM
Hi

I use an sme 6.o box at work as a firewall and email attachment virus scanner (clamd with amavis-ng) which then forwards the emails to our internal exchange box. I also want to strip off all .exes .bats etc.

I am aware of Darrell Mays checkhab contrib but that seems to work at the mail box level which I presume wouldnt work with the delegate mail server setting. Any ideas?

thanks

Mark

Mark,

Try using ASSP it will do what you want and will work with anti-virus program. Do a search here for it.

thanks bobk

Darrell May has built an rpm to install assp and it works perfectly

thanks for the suggestion - with assp/clamd/amavis-ng/snort/acid not a lot will sneak through our firewall.

--and thanks Darrel for yet another excellent contrib

cheers
