I know a few have requested this before and I have also seen many questions about it in the Experienced Forums... So I can actually say there are a few others who would like to see this too.
An upgrade to a newer version of PHP including a newer version of Mysql & GD... something that is not 2 years old like the current version... Idealy =>GD2
(maybe even look upgrading - Apache & PERL)
I use SME not only for (Many) client Firewalls (with IPSEC vpns and mail and web restrictions etc) but I also have a couple souly as webserver. These upgrades would make me and many others in the community very very very very happy!

Ever since E-Smith was purchased by Mitel, the core OS has been updated, but all the peripheries seem to have lagged behind. As Mambo OS released their latest, it appears that ALL of the versions of Apache, PHP, MySQL are at the lowest acceptable level, with at least 4 version updates to each.
I searched for a PHP upgrade, but the one posted for 5.6 just doesn't work with 6.0. It certainly sounds like tiime for an upgrade.
