I guess most people here are aware that RAV anti virus software has been bought out by MS. Updates stop in November I think, then that's it ... gone.
ClamAV is one obvious OSS contender as a replacement for SME Server. I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on this package, particularly regarding how up to date it is kept?
Does anyone have any experience with BitDefender on SME Server, which appears to be the main commercial contender trying to fill RAV's shoes?
Any general advice on where to go now for reliable anti virus protection appreciated.
TIA

I have been using Clam AV with amavis-ng for about 6 months now, I think. It has worked great. It checks for updates every hour, so it is always up to date. Here is a page with the software links and how to by Damien Curtain. It is very detailed and very easy to follow.

I am using Bitdefender for SME server:

It is working great. A viable alternative to RAV.
