Title: No routing except for http
Post by: terencem on January 25, 2004, 09:51:22 AM
I've had SME v6.0 running on a dialup POTS like for a couple of weeks now.  No problems.  Then I added an ISDN card, reconfigured and rebooted.  Still no problems.  Then I realised that although I could http to any website from any workstation on the lan, I couldn't ping the same sever from any workstation.  Anyone got any idea why my routing has gone and how to get it back?

Many thanks,

Terence.

:hammer: If any of you guys could help, I could sure use some.  When I changed back to a modem from ISDN the routing returned.  I bought a Fritz card and tried that... the same thing happened.  Over ISDN, I couldn' reach anything outside the LAN.  Does anybody have any ideas?

Terence.

Well your routes are most likely fine - you can browse the Internet.

What happens if you do tracert on the workstation - or try a ping/traceroute from the SME command line.

Perhaps a problem with your service provider.

No idea. But I'll check them both out and get back to you.  Thanks for the ideas.
