Title: mapping shares
Post by: ianluis on February 01, 2004, 04:22:41 PM
Recently I upgrade my sme 5.6u6_02, to sme6.0. Everything was working fine untill today. It seem that the box doesn't recognized any user trying to map to a share. It keeps asking for the password.
I'm using W-XP
What I tried so far:
1- Add new user,
2- add new Ibay
3- modified the ibays configuration to no access and so on....
4- reset the user password
5- re-installed the upgrade, with SAMBA rpm's (2.2.8a-1es1)
6- modified the group access on ibays to everyone...
and i'm still getting the same results.....
any ideas....?

Hi,

Do you get any errors in the samba log? Or any errors in the windows Event Viewer?

Hi,
I had the same problem, didn't realise that it was Norton although I have Norton on the said machine, I had to delete the user on XP Pro and create the same user again and it as been OK since!! I also copied the favorites and My Document folders and then pasted them to the new users settings. I hope this helps you.
