Title: dns/domain issues

I have just set up sme server(server only mode) on a small network behind another firewall.  The sme server is running as a domain controller, file server, web proxy and dns server etc.

the only problem is i cannot join the domain from my other computers, which are a mix between 2000/xp.  I can connect to the server and access the file shares, server manager etc.  The error i get is "can't find domain or domain doesn't exist".

I tried pinging the domain name but, but it could not be found, i checked the dns cache results and nothing was entered for my domain name but there are other entries for websites i ping. ??? what the??

server-manager
Configuration
   workgroup

Set your workgroup name and change workgroup and domain controller to yes.

then join your domain.
