Title: ClamAV help
Post by: del on February 03, 2004, 02:54:05 AM
Hi All,
I have been running SME5.6 without Amavis-NG and ClamAv, and I have decided that I need to install it (although Mailwasher and AVG have caught all virus to date). After looking at Jesper's site (http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/) and reading through the HowTo I can understand most of it and think I could work my way through it except the line:
x-header-line = by amavis-ng-<version> on yourhost.yourdomain.com, I understand that yuordomain.com would be my domain name but what do I replace the yourhost bit with? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am still very unsure about working from the command line. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Del

Your host would be the hostname of your SME server.  ie smeserver.mydomain.com.  This is mainly cosmetic and only places the information in the email header and will be transparent to the end user and therefore, as his comments mention, is not necessary for the configuration of clamAv.
