Title: raid monitor
Post by: crazybob on February 03, 2004, 07:08:32 AM
I started receiving the following message from my cutomers computer

ALARM! RAID configuration problem

Current configuration is:

Personalities : [raid1]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md2 : active raid1 hda3[0] hdb3[1]
      264960 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md1 : active raid1 hda2[0] hdb2[1]
      194988864 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md0 : active raid1 hda1[0] hdb1[1]
      104320 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: <none>

Last known good configuration was:

Personalities : [raid1]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md2 : active raid1 hda3[0] hdb3[1]
      264960 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md1 : active raid1 hda2[0] hdb2[1]
      194988864 blocks [2/2] [UU]
      [>....................]  resync =  1.6% (3217672/194988864) finish=328.7min speed=9719K/sec
md0 : active raid1 hda1[0] hdb1[1]
      104320 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: <none>

I did a little testing with software from the drive manufacture to determein that hda was the problem, and we will replace the drive and re-build the raid.

My question being a newbie is how can I tell from this report which drive is bad?

Thanks

Bob
