I've got a new client and am just finalising the spec for their server. I want to setup dialin as well as vpn and plan to use a shiva dialup server or something similar. The principal with these devices is that they dhcp to inbound calls - you configure it to dhcp a small range of locally valid addreses and you just connect the shiva box (usually a rack mountable device) to the network hub like a pc.
Does anyone in support have experience with this kind of device and if so recommendations/pitfalls to be aware of? I've decided not to configure the e-smith server for dialin because we need two inbound lines and the problems post v.4.0 with configuring the server this way.

Used a ZoomAccess RAS unit and it worked fine for dial in users. Defined the ports on the unit set the dial-in user security, fairly basic setup, no pitfalls. Main use is for dial-in internet access.
