I am using a Westell Wirespeed DSL modem in bridged mode with a SME 6 server. The problem is that with the modem in bridged mode it is no longer possible for me to browse (http://192.168.1.254) to the admin GUI on the Westell modem. I need to open/nat port 2525 to the SME server, but with the modem in bridged mode this doesn't seem possible.
Also - I know that port forwarding is native on the SME 6.0, BUT it seems to only be allowed when forwarding the traffic to another PC/server on the network. Can you not forward a port to another port on the same server?
Thanks,
Chris G.

When the modem is in bridged mode it does nothing except pass all traffic through to the SME box (I get the same efect with my router if I use the DMZ option); no port forwarding required!
There is a port opening contrib around for SME5.6 but I don't know if it works on SME6.
With the port forwarding question, why not just reconfig an app to use the port you want rather than trying to forward?
