Title: Raid question

Hello,

I have idea about my sytem backup:

I will use software mirroring. The mirror hard drive will be installed  in a mobile rack so once a week I replace the mirror hard drive with an other easly and the raid reconstruct itself.
Can that work?

Althought I have 2 IBM and 1 maxtor ide hard drive all with the same 80Go capacity. Is that a problem?

is it possible to use diskmirroring on the SME server? yes, you have to be able to creat same partition size on both disks), (look at 6000_tech_handbook_en.pdf) in documentation area) for details. Only don't know if it's hot swapable.

It's possible to setup SME to use RAID. My server's set up for RAID. I did it on installation though. Never tried hot swopping.

Well what I have found is that hot swapping ide drives is not a good idea  :cry:

It is swappable by turning off the server and then back on...
I thinks I will use a backup to disk :)
