Title: Can't RECEIVE pop3 mail outside the LAN
Post by: ChrisG on February 05, 2004, 07:01:08 AM
I am used to the SME blocking the relaying/sending of mail from outside the LAN, but now today I can't get any pop3 mail to receive outside the LAN, either. I can't think of any change that would have caused this. It's like port 110 is suddenly blocked incoming. I have no idea even which log files to look at.

I have tried pinging mail.myfooserver.com and it won't resolve. There is no external firewall that could be blocking it, though. And I have tried from FOUR different ISP's outside my LAN.

Any ideas / help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

You say it won't resolve?  Sounds more like a DNS issue then.  Can you connect to the IP address of the pop3 server?
