Title: How about an "announce" forum?
Post by: adrianball on February 05, 2004, 09:53:19 AM
This would be great for information about new contribs and updates to the distribution.  Currently all this info is buried in the discussion groups.

Why not to use built-in e-mail notification for new additions, changes. It works well.

The built-in e-mail notification is usefull, but you must have written in the thread to use it (or maybe I missed something). :-(

That is true for forum, but initial post was about contribs and updates. That area does not require posting to be notified of changes.

Hi everybody,

Is there a new 'franglish' Forum ;-) ?

... More seriously, the idea is great, if somebody wants to launch issue it the discussion list, I fell it can have more impact.

... Also wants to mention that the ' Weblink ' gives the opportunity to ' subscribe for notification '. Therefore it has been chosen as ' repository ' for all new stuffs, even ' core development '.

Arf ! I hadn't noticed this function. :-(
Thanks Hervé, and sorry, Boris, for my last answer, as i thought the notification only existed in the forums.
