Title: Whats the easiest way to get rpm files...
Post by: ed hunter on February 08, 2004, 01:12:11 AM
Im new to linux, and the SME server package...  Im trying to install rmp packages, but I don't know how to copy the files to the server...  I do not have a modem in the server, and I want to copy the files from another computer to the server.. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to "see" and move the files to the correct directory? And does it matter which directory they go to?  I've played with "midnight commander" from the root prompt, but when I go to /mnt/floppy I dont see any of the files on the a drive... So Im guessing Im doing it wrong.   Any help appreciated...
many thanks, ed

Hi Ed,
I use winscp, can be found here: http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/
Also I think it is in the contribs part of this site under dmay (Darrell May) and then under windows contribs. I hope this helps.

Or you can use Putty to login to your SME box via SSH and make changes there albeit winSCP will do nicely too.
