did you login under root?

Did you use root to login or your username?
Maybe you have enabled ssh logins from your server and not the other person.
If you logged in under root then thats fine if you wish for a user to log in then you need to install user-shell-access found @ http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/smeserver/contribs/star/mitel/contrib/user-shell-access/
Once installed just tick the users you want to have access from within the webinterface

I found it helped after I installed the user shell from dungog.net I enabled the user to login. I just got ahead of myself.
Thanks for the input
