www.jnr.lan isn't registered in the dns servers that are configured in the PC's that are trying to reach www.jnr.lan.

If you are not using DHCP (or have another DHCP server on the LAN) then how do your systems know anything about your SME box?
Either manually set you DNS settings to the SME box, use the SME DHCP, or reconfig the other DHCP server settings to nominate the SME as a DNS server.
If the SME box resolves the request it will work.
PS - if you have another DNS server (perhaps as well as another DHCP) then you will need setup the internal domain within that product.
