Title: IP aliasing
Post by: bhairav on February 16, 2004, 07:37:13 AM
i am using e-smith 5.6 in a server and gateway-dedicated mode
i am having two ethernet cards among which eth0 is for local network and eth1 is for external interface
now i want to alias the local network so that eth0 can support two different subnets on same network card is it possible? if yes can anyone tell me how?
thanks in advance

Hi,

I think you must add an third network card, on this card you plug your new lan.

Take a look here (http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/contrib/net_card.html) but it's for SME 4.X.
