Hmm, I have a similar problem which occurred when I changed the default domain name of the server.  I'll ask an additional question...is there a way to perhaps RESET the certificate?

When you install SME, a self-signed server certificate is created with the name of secure.<domain>.  You have two options--either direct your https links to https://secure.whatever, or create a new server certificate that matches the server name you want to use.  The certs are stored at /home/e-smith/ssl.crt and /home/e-smith/ssl.key.

That's great, thanks!  But how do you recreate the key and certificate?  Will it be automatically recreated if it's deleted, or is there a command to run?

Thanks, DanB.  The V-cut site referenced in that thread appears to be down, but another HowTo is here: http://www.chaloner.ca/article.php?story=20020922181652718
