Hi,
I bought a Dell PowerEdge 2500 server to run E-Smith 4.1.2.
I can't install it because E-smith / Redhat 7.0 doesn't recognize this controller. I have redhat 7.1 Cds and tried to install it on the server. I had no problem whatsoever ... Redhat 7.1 recognized the Dell PoweEdge Expandable Raid Controller 3/Di.
What could I do in order to install E-Smith 4.1.2 with Raid 1 Hardware ?
Thanks in advance.

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I am having the same issue with E-Smith 4.1.... It doesn't find the controllers, and have yet to find a solution.. Does version 5 work with this controller?
Thanks

Has anyone has used the Dell Perc3-DI with SME5 or 5.1B?
I am getting ready to purchase a Dell PowerEdge 2550 using the internal raid controller and it would be nice to know if I'll have to manually install the driver, or if it is going to automagically detect it. If I don't hear back from anyone, I'll post my experiences when/if I get it running!!!
Thanks for any information!!!

Well, I purchased the PowerEdge and installed SME 5.1.2 on it.
The raid card came up without a problem.
The two internal LAN cards, one of which is supposed to be an Intel, the other is a gigabit card, were not recognized, so I stuck in two 3com's and I'm now up and running.
