Hi!
I have tried to connect to sme server with putty (with ssh connection). I can connect to server console but not to linux console. So how can i modify it to connect straight to linux console?
ps. i can get to linux console from the computer (by pressing alt-f2), but not from remote computer. Any advices?

Login as 'root' instead of 'admin' (same password, you know).

SME does not allow root login from the WAN. Login as a normal user first then su.

Fiddlesticks !
Of course it does !
I do it all the time from work in order to perform maintenance.

You can login as root from the WAN if you allow it in the server manager (security | Remote access), Secure shell access = Allow public access.
Note: This is not recommended by most security policies!

Exactly, Mats !
And I am already beginning to regret yelling out loud about my use.
Well, we'll see.

Well i changed ssh to public and tried to login as root, but it says wrong password.
I have changed root password...so the admin and root password is for me different.
The root username and password does work from the server computer, but not from remote access.
So any advices?
