Title: Can I upgrade from 4.1.2 to 5.6?
Post by: pwgsc1 on February 24, 2004, 06:16:19 PM
Hi Folks,

Just realized that an internal FTP server is still running 4.1.2. It never gave me any trouble so I never thought about it.

What would be the upgrade path for this machine? Can I go straight to 5.6 or should I cycle throught the 5.X versions?

This machine like I said is only used as an FTP server, a method to move large amounts of data between regional offices.

Thanks,

Craig

From what I have read you should migrate to 5.12 then to 5.6 I have never done it myself but others here have it seems.

I upgraded from a 4.x to 6.0b3+updates server a while back and the only problems I remember having were db configuration entries for dnscache and smtpfront-qmail.  The loginscript may have been hosed, but I didn't use it on that server.
