Title: Password protect primary Ibay for internet browser access.
Post by: n3tm4n on February 25, 2004, 01:23:27 AM
Hi,

I've been trying to crack this one for a couple of days now, but my searching seem to have just increased my confusion.

On V6.0 Final I am trying to protect the primary ibay with password authentication for all web access from the internet.

Any pointers how to do this, or alternatively allow me to block access to the primary ibay completely causing me to use a secondary ibay with password protection would be much appreciated.

Regards NM

In the Domains panel of the server manager (v6.0+ only), you can specify the i-bay target (Primary or any existing i-bay) used for the primary domain.

But i don't know if access with your IP address will point to the specified i-bay or to the Primary i-bay.

look into using a .htaccess file in each folder that needs control.

Use a login page in the primary folder (index.html) as a front end for the site.

Many thanks grand-pa, I knew there must be a way, just I couldn't see it.

I did try the .htaccess but just seemed to manage to break things. Think I ought to stick to my day job at times.

Your help is most appreciated.
