Title: Pictures and caching
Post by: Rix on February 29, 2004, 06:15:48 PM
Hello! What's wrong if I surf on web and sometimes some (small) pictures don't 'open'. I can see only red [X] intead of picture. My gateway is SME 6.0.

And I'm going to ask one quetstion more.
Does SME cache pictures/sites?

Thanks,
Rix

SME uses Squid, which is a proxy. It tends to just work, so I haven't really paid a lot of attention to how it is set up on SME, but yes, it would usually run as a cache also.

If you are running Windows ctrl + F5 will usually force a complete reload, bypassing any locally and remotely cached copies of files.

But how can I turn this feature off? I don't want any caching.

Thanks,

I tried it and then I cann't see any sites :)
I didn't know how I can start it again and therefore I made restart to my SME.
Then I was back in the beginning. I tried this squid -k reconfigure and my problems were solved. What is this? Anyway I think it works ;) Thanks
